Marit Green


Festival Director

Marit Green grew up in Eden Prairie where she trained competitively at a local studio and was a member of the Eden Prairie Pom Squad in high school. She holds her BA in Dance & Economics from St. Olaf College and an MA in Leadership from Augsburg University. For 8 summers, Marit travelled the Midwest teaching summer dance camps with Universal Dance Association and continues to judge regional competitions. She was the Business Director and an instructor at Prairie School of Dance for 10 years before taking on the role of mom. This is her 17th season coaching the Hopkins Royelles Dance Team and is entering her 12th season as head coach. In addition to coaching and being with her 2 kids, she is in her 3rd year as a part time wedding coordinator for Fab Event Design. Marit is excited to be with CDF and is excited for another festival!

 

Elliana Vesely

Festival

Coordinator

Elliana Vesely grew up in Northern Wisconsin dancing at Christine’s Dance Company. As of May of 2020, she holds a B.A. in dance from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She complemented this degree with studies in biology and health & wellness promotion, receiving minors in both. While at the U of M, Elliana was the Director’s Assistant for the 2020 University of Minnesota Dance Concert: Spring in Winter and the Assistant Stage Manager for the 2019 University of Minnesota Dance Concert: Spring in Winter. In addition to this, she was Co-President of the U of M student group, Student Dance Coalition and a 2017-2018 U of M Admissions Ambassador. Elliana is honored to have been a recipient of the Beth Hope Suran Scholarship (2016-2020) and the Jean Congdon Scholarship (2019-2020). During this time she had the pleasure of working with Crash Dance Company & Shapiro and Smith Dance and performed in the 2018 North-Central American College Dance Association Gala. Elliana has been cast in works by acclaimed artists: Leah Nelson, Joan Smith, Robert Moses, Eko Supriyanto, Kjara Wurst, Carl Flink, Jessie Gold, Berit Ahlgren, Helen Hatch, Marcus Jarrell Willis, Stefanie Batten Bland, Alanna Morris & Yusha-Marie Sorzano. She has had the privilege of dancing for Shapiro and Smith Dance, ARENA DANCES, MN Opera, Walker Art Center, Black Label Movement, and TU Dance.

Sarah Linner Quie


Founder

Sarah Linner Quie founded Cathedral Dance Festival in 2013, bringing dance schools together in a wholesome environment for education, performance and adjudication in Eden Prairie, MN. Sarah graduated from St. Olaf College with a Bachelors degree in Dance and Religion and has taught the joy of dancing for almost four decades. Sarah was the Dance Director at Macalester College, MN. She also taught at Saint Mary’s College and the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN, where she choreographed Sacred dance performances for chapel services. She was the Dance Director for the Early Childhood Development Center at the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s College in South Bend. Mrs. Quie has founded and directed three dance schools; St. Anthony School of Dance in St. Paul (currently St. Paul  Ballet), the Conservatory of Dance in South Bend and is currently the Director at Prairie School of Dance. Sarah was the Dance Co-Director of St. Anthony Sacred Dance Company. Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband, three sons, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Sarah is a lifelong dancer, continuing to teach dance and lead workshops. She believes dance is a calling and is grateful to have dance as an expression of her Christian faith.
